Asia Food Tech Innovation Summit

Summit Background
With the deep adjustment of global food pattern and the increasingly fierce international competition. The world has entered the age of the unprecedented intensive innovation and revitalization. The world's major economies especially the developed countries, they all speed up the pace of economic transformation and upgrading. The global food industry situation is also undergoing extensive and profound changes, which is constantly developed into multiple fields, the whole chain, deep level, low energy consumption, full usage, high efficiency and sustainable development. It has a more and more profound influence on Chinese food industry.

The food industry is the pillar industry of the national economy and the basic industry of the protection of people's livelihood. According to the 1025 Planning development of the food industry, to speed up the structure adjustment of the food industry, promote the transformation and upgrading of industry and construct the modern food industry system with Chinese characteristics, realize the sustainable and healthy development.

According to the statistics of National Bureau , the first quarter of 2013, Chinese food industry completed investment in fixed assets 183.881billion, Chinese food industry maintains  good health situation overall. This year, the total output value of the food industry is expected to exceed 10 trillions RMB. The national large-scale food industrial enterprises reach 35084, complete the main business income 2284.27trillion has an increase of 16.5%.

This year, the proportion of the added value of national food industry is expected to reach11.7%, 10.4% contribution to the national industrial; pull the national industry growth rate 0.97 percentage points. The national scale food industrial added value increased by 9.8%, 0.5 percentage points higher than the national growth rate of the industry. Food industry has made a great contribution for the national industrial growth.

With the speed-up application of the new technology, the food industry constantly emerges new formats. Food science is a highly integrated application discipline. The major scientific and technological achievements in other areas of science will be directly or indirectly promote technological innovation in food industry.
